While simulation training has been used for years by the military, commercial airlines, and medical industries, its use is now commonplace in career and technical education. With most training programs embracing hybrid methods of content delivery, the many benefits of adding virtual 3D training and simulation elements into their programs are immeasurable, especially in the areas of improving student comprehension and skills-based dexterity. Simulation and 3D training brings real-world, critical thinking skills, to students in a format that makes learning fun, safe and engaging, while boosting their confidence, in a safe, virtual environment.
Incorporating these exciting elements into the training you offer is far easier than you might think! The ESCO Institute has introduced to its already extensive and comprehensive line up several online simulation and interactive 3D programs. Each stand-alone program is organized into modules, which are delivered, in order, one at a time. Each new section is unlocked once the previous section has been successfully completed.
This feature ensures that students navigate and complete the program as intended. Programs presently available include refrigeration, trade math, basic hydraulics, basic electrical series AC machines and RL circuits, basic electrical series DC machines, basic electric series resistive circuits, basic rigging, internal combustion engines, and scaffolding awareness.
Within each module of the simulation programs, a step-by-step mentor feature guides the learner through each process. This feature ensures that users practice correctly. Practice doesn’t make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect! After the mentoring portion of the module has been successfully completed, the users can practice, and master, the procedure on their own.
Each module in both the 3D and simulation programs concludes with a knowledge check to ensure users have retained the information as intended. The knowledge check for each module must be completed before the next module can be unlocked. Upon passing the final quiz, a completion certificate and feedback section will become available. Learners can review any completed modules as many times as desired, within the subscription period. There is also a leaderboard feature which allows users to post their scores publicly, if desired.
